I'm Late!

I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date!

I do apologise for being late on posting but I just hadn't got round to uploading my pictures onto the computer and now it's Friday and I feel bad...

Today's post is a recipe to make Chocolate Brownies!

Ingredients:

300g Dark Chocolate
250g Butter
5 Large Eggs
450g Sugar
200g Plain Flour

Preheat the oven to 150°C.

Start with 300g of good dark chocolate, I used 70% cocoa.

Boil the kettle and pour into a pot, then bring the water to the boil on a low heat.

Melt the chocolate in a bowl over the pot with the butter

Mmmm... oh yes...

Add a drop of vanilla essence then leave to cool.

Beat the eggs in a cup, and add to a large bowl with the sugar.

Add the chocolate mixture.

Come to mama.

And whisk it all together!

Sift in the flour

And fold it in gently with a spoon.

Lovely!

Pour it into a lined tray (Tip: Cut the lining bigger than the tray base so you can easily lift it out), and use a palette knife to spread it evenly.

Bake for about 40 mins...

And when it's done the top should be cracked and the inside should be nice and gooey...

Serve a slice with a scoop of ice cream or whatever tickles your fancy! Enjoy!

Lots of love and kisses, Miss Marcie x

Nectarine Tart

On Friday me and my sister made nectarine tart! It would have been peaches but we had nectarines so we thought let's do it!

Here is what you need:

Shortcrust pastry (we used Jus-Rol frozen stuff but it's best to make your own!)
Nectarines, peaches, apples or whatever floats your boat! (the riper the better, sometimes even over-ripe fruit is good)
Brown sugar for a glaze,
A lined pie dish (ours is non stick tin-foil)

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Roll out the pastry (whatever kind you're using). My sister asked me to get her T in the Park campers band in the photo, so let me confirm - it is not me in this photo! I did not camp at T in the Park! I would never dream of it!

Fill the dish with the pastry and if necessary cut extra pastry off the sides and use to make the crust a bit fuller.

To cut nectarines, use a sharp knife to cut right the way round the stone.

Then twist it in opposite directions with your hands and remove the stone.

Chop the fruit into slices and arrange it in a pretty pattern! As you can see I just used as many nectarines as I needed so you don't want to cut all the fruit then have too much!

When you have covered the pastry base and it looks ready, sprinkle some light brown sugar over it all to give it a glaze.

Whack that in the oven for about half an hour and just keep an eye on it.

It should come out bubbling and brown.

And the pastry should be golden and crisp.

Serve with a dollop of crème fraîche or single cream, or if you're wanting a bit of a hot and cold contrast, a scoop of ice cream!

I want to apologise for the awful quality of photos as I am literally using my camera phone which is horrendous! If anyone could recommend a good DSLR for a good price - think under £100? - please let me know! I hope you enjoyed today's post and please come back another day.

Daddy Made Jam!

Today my dad made raspberry jam which was so lovely because we used to always make jam when me and my sister were little. We would go and pick the berries from Cairnie Fruit Farm and make huge pots of it! Of course we never made the jam ourselves as we were too young but I always remember the gorgeous aroma of it wafting through the house in the evening.

So here it is!

I made those gorgeous labels you are admiring by the way.

I would love to make some of it myself, then I could make 'Miss Marcie's Jam' labels!

Do please come back to see me again and feel free to comment and tell me about your jam making experience!

Miss Marcie Says Hello

Hello there I'm Marcie and welcome to my brand spanking new blog! How exciting! I have never had a blog on Blogspot before so this is something to get used to!

Well. How can I start? I am 15 years old as of April and live in a little village in Scotland. I really wish I didn't though. I want to be living in New York or London! Living life! Not watching it from the corner, which up until recently I was doing. When I started high school in 2008 it was a big shock to me and I wasn't ready for it. I struggled with things and eventually in my second year it all became too much and I was referred to a children's mental health hospital for counselling. It was a long long long time before anything really happened with therapy and I just got worse and worse.

Only this year in March was anything really done about getting proper help and I met with a lovely man who we knew was going to get me better. And he did! I am now feeling fabulously and deliciously wonderful! I am a new me! And with that new me I want to get a new lifestyle and a bright future all aglow and just waiting for me to light it right up! I'm going to be venturing into vintage everything and would like you all to help me along the way.

Do please come back to see me again and feel free to comment and tell me about your vintage finds!

Lots of love and kisses, Miss Marcie x
